Starting with India in the early 80s, Praj’s ethanol technology serves various applications in different parts of the world. In Chemistry terms, ethanol or ethyl alcohol is the 2nd member in the family of molecules containing –OH (hydroxyl) group attached to a carbon atom, with chemical formula C2H5OH. This molecule has three widely known applications As fuel ethanol where it is mixed with gasoline as an oxygenate to boost octane number and in higher proportions, to replace gasoline. As beverage alcohol where it is the principal component of alcoholic beverages like whiskey, rum, vodka. In industrial applications like paints, varnishes, perfumes, pharmaceuticals, industrial solvent, etc. Depending on the soil-climate condition, feedstock for ethanol changes from continent to continent and country to country. Sugar based feedstock like sugarcane juice, sugarcane molasses, beet; grains like corn, rice, wheat; tubers like cassava are the conventional feedstock used in different parts of the world and collectively termed as 1st generation feedstock. - Critical Process Equipment & SkidsPraj established a dedicated business unit in 2008 to offer Critical Process Equipment & Systems to various process industries such as Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, Chemicals, Food, Pharma and Biotech. Praj offers a range of static equipment like pressure vessels, reactors, shell and tube heat exchangers, columns and other proprietary equipment built as per the client design. We also undertake end-to-end projects for process skids and packages. Our capability is substantiated by a multi-disciplinary engineering team of ~50 dedicated to this business. We support our clients with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Process & Thermal Design and Piping Design & Stress Analysis. Our four well-equipped manufacturing facilities have excellent connectivity to ports and highways. Total area of all the four facilities put together is 1,40,000 sqm and covered area is 44,000 sqm expandable as required.
