Supplementary education for children in Mulshi Taluka |
Sadhana Village with support from Praj Foundation is implementing a Supplementary education programme for children in seven villages of Mulshi taluka since December 2006. The programme includes use of supportive education tools to make the studies more interesting thereby enhancing the understanding of the subject. The subjects such as Mathematics, Marathi, etc are being taught with the help of teaching aids and play-way method The programme also aims at reducing the drop-out ratio from the school. To provide scope to exhibit the talent of these children a cultural programme was organized at Sadhana village facility in Mulshi. A group of Children from each the seven villages show-cased their talent by presenting songs, skits, etc. Right from selection of the song/skit to the presentation, everything was done by children themselves!
To enhance the sensitivities of the PRAJites towards various issues faced by children in remote villages and to provide them an opportunity to visit the project area, a visit of interested PRAJites was organized on Saturday, 8th March 08 to Sadhana Village. 12 Prajites including PF committee members visited the project area near Kolvan in Mulshi taluka and visited the supportive education class in the village.
