Praj Foundation decided to build awareness on environmental issues and global warming among school children in the age group of 10-15 by announcing an essay competition. The idea of the essay competition was not just to create awareness, but also invite fresh thoughts on how to combat Global Warming. A unique feature of this competition was recognition of the Guiding Teachers of the winner students with a special award.

The response to the competition was overwhelming with a participation of 11,477 students and 57 Teachers from 107 schools. Innovative, doable, economical, eco friendly ideas were given higher ratings.
