PRAMOD CHAUDHARI,
Chairman, Praj Industries Limited

Pramod Chaudhari did his engineering from The Indian Institute
of Technology, Bombay (IIT). His career spans over 35 years
of professional and entreprenuerial endeavour. He established
Praj in 1984. Since then he has built PRAJ into a global
Company.
Today, Pramod is intensifying the Company's activities into
the knowledge domain of biotech processes and systems in
the global arena. The focus is on clean technologies coupled
with alternate feedstocks like cane juice, tropical sugarbeet
and cassava, which will provide renewable energy source.
To strengthen his corporate expertise, he attended Advanced
Management Programme at Harvard Business School in 1995.
He has contributed to the National Biofuels Policy as a
member of the Committee on Development of Biofuels –
Planning Commission, Government of India, for introduction
of renewable fuels to India.
He has been profiled in a recently published book called
'Thought Leaders' by a leading Indian Author, which focuses on visionary entrepreneurs.
Recently ‘Popular Prakashan, Mumbai has published
a book under the title ‘As is what Is’ a story
of the journey of Praj which recounts its trials, tribulations
and achievements. He is also the recipient of the Jagatik
Marathi Chamber of Commerce ‘National Level Entrepreneurship’
Award in the Year 2004 and the ‘Distinguished Alumnus
Award’ of IIT, Bombay in the Year 2005. He is the
Chairman of CII, Pune Zonal Council (for 2006-07).
He is supported in his efforts by his wife Parimal, who
is a media consultant and son Parth.

Mr. Shashank Inamdar, Managing Director
|
A Chemical Engineer from the premier engineering
institute of India, IIT Mumbai, Mr. Inamdar has extensive
experience in consulting.
Trained in France, Holland and Denmark in plant engineering,
plant design and bio-technological process he has in-depth experience
in fermentation and distillation technology.
He has worked on developmental projects like continuous fermentation
for production of ethanol, distillation tray designs, and
many other technologies including fluidized bed heat exchanger.
He has presented technical papers at various international
and national forums including, 'Cost of Production of Ethanol',
Pre and Post clarification of molasses' for the NRE Laboratory
in USA, 'Ethanol in Asia' at F.O. Licht's World Ethanol Seminar
in London, 'Effect of composition of molasses on alcohol production'
at the F.O. Licht's World Ethanol Seminar in Miami, 'Mechanically
Accelerated Bioprocess for Conversion of Distillery Effluent
into Fertiliser' at ACHEMA2000 . Mr. Inamdar speaks English
and French fluently.

Mr. Berjis Desai, Director
|
Mr. Desai is a solicitor. He
is a graduate of Elphinstone College Mumbai with First Class
Honours in LLB. He studied law at Cambridge University, England
followed by articleship with M/s. Crawford Bayley & Co.
Mr. Desai is on the Board of several public limited Companies
including Sterlite Industries, BPL Mobile Communications Ltd.,
Centrum Finance Ltd., etc. He is Managing Partner of M/S J.
Sagar Associates. He is also on the Panel of Arbitrators of
the Indian Council of Arbitration and the London Court of
International Arbitration.

Mr. Sivaramakrishnan S.
Iyer, Director

Mr. Iyer is a Chartered Accountant
Practicing Partner with Patel Rajeev Siva & Associates
in Mumbai with special emphasis on management audit and consultancy.
Apart from being associated with audit of several well known
companies, he also has experience in Funds Management.

Mr. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Director

Mr. Rakesh
Jhunjhunwala has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on
the Board of Directors of Praj Industries w.e.f. 2nd March
2004. Mr. Jhunjhunwala is
a B.Com (Hons) from Sydneham College of Commerce &
Economics, Mumbai.
After qualifying as Chartered Accountant in 1985 he entered the stock market. He
has been profiled as one of India's best five investors by
Business India magazine in 1998.

Mr. Anil Joshi, Director
Anil Joshi, retired in 2003 as Chairman & Managing Director,
Dena Bank. He is a Post-Graduate in Science and holds a Diploma
in Business Management. He has also completed Part-I of CAIIB
examination of Indian Institute of Bankers. He has held various
positions in public sector enterprises in India starting off
as a Scientific Officer in Atomic Energy Establishment, General
Manager in Bank of Maharashtra, Executive Director, Indian
Bank and finally as the Chairman and Managing Director of
Dena Bank. He serves as a Director on various other Boards
as also he is a member of Evaluation Committee of Maharashtra
Airport Development Company Ltd., Government of Maharashtra
undertaking. (* Necessary Government approval is expected
shortly).
He
has held the position of Deputy Chairman of Indian Banks'
Association, President of Banks' Sports Board and Director
of Agriculture Finance Corporation. He has undergone training
in Foreign Exchange in Germany, UK and France and has travelled
to Italy as a "Member" of Indian Delegation for Loan Negotiation
with International Fund for Agricultural . He has received
several awards and recognititons. In 2003, he was accorded
the highest honor in Banking - the Ugadi Award and in the
same year the Maharashtra Gaurav Award and the Mahrashtra
Ratna Award. He also received the Honorary Lion award for
sterling leadership for turnaround of public sector bank from
Lions Club(Bandra East), Mumbai.

Mrs. Parimal Chaudhari, Director
Parimal Chaudhari has a bachelor’s degree from Pune University in the subject of English Language and
a post Graduate degree in Journalism & Communications. She also has Integrated Master’s
degree in Social Sciences.
As a journalist, she has worked for the Business India group of magazines and as an academician
she has taught at the Department of Communications and Journalism at the Pune University.
As a recipient of Fulbright Fellowship, she has acquired her M.S. at Syracuse University,
New York, USA, in Radio-Film & TV.
She uses her multi-media expertise for projects in writing and in creation of audio-visual
content for serving various applications of education, organizational behavior and social causes.
As Human Resources Trainer, she conducts workshops for Myers and Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
and Thinking and Creativity skills of Edward De Bono.

Mr. Daljit Mirchandani, Director
Daljit Mirchandani is a Graduate Engineer from Birla Institute of Technology. He is currently Chairman of Ingersoll-Rand in India.
Prior to his current employment, Mr. Mirchandani has held several key positions in the Kirloskar Group. Beginning his career in 1971 as Graduate Trainee Engineer, in 1992 he rose to the position of Executive Director in Kirloskar Oil Engines, the flagship company of the Kirloskar Group (KOEL).
His passion, commitment and strength lie in understanding customer processes, the value that the customer expects, and aligning the product, marketing and people strategy with the business strategy. And when it comes to people, he has been instrumental in getting some pioneering work done, in the enterprises he has led.
He was the Chairman of the Karnataka State Council of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII ) in 2005 , the premier Industry body that interfaces with the State and Central Government bodies. In 2007, he has been nominated by the CII to be a member of the National Horticulture Board and the Task Force formed by the Ministry of Agriculture, to examine policy interventions for the formation of the Cold Chain Infrastructure in India for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables.
